Meet Coach Sofiia

Sofiia began fencing at the age of 12 and has competed extensively in tournaments across Ukraine and Europe, gaining valuable international competitive experience in the sport.

She currently continues her athletic career in Canada as a High-Performance Varsity Athlete at Toronto Metropolitan University. In her first OUA season in 2026, Sofiia achieved a Top 8 finish, demonstrating her strong competitive level and dedication to continuous development.

Alongside her athletic career, Sofiia is pursuing a degree in Psychology and has experience working with children. She believes fencing is more than a sport — it is a way to build confidence, discipline, resilience, and the motivation to achieve personal goals.

At Tim’s Fencing Academy, Sofiia creates a positive and supportive training environment where athletes of all ages feel safe, encouraged, and motivated to grow both on and off the strip.
